Pain and its realtionship with Muscle Imbalances

Most injuries or joint pain are usually due to muscles that are either working too hard or not enough. If this is the case there is something that you can do about it.

Muscles that work too hard are called Over-Active Muscles

Muscles that are not activating enough are called Under-Active Muscles

After you have identified the problem muscles you then develop a plan of action that involves the following:
  1. Use a foam roller to shut down overactive muscles
  2. Stretch overactive muscles
  3. Activate under active muscles
  4. Integrate your muscles back into a normal movement pattern
